Why is Costa Rica so in demand?

It's a classic situation, baby boomers refuse to get older. The demand has shot through the roof for tropical retirement havens like Costa Rica. It seems like today in your 50's & 60's it's time to pick up youre old acoustic guitar & go surfing again. There is no doubt the trend is to relive ones youth. I recently met a Dutch couple in there 70's who were busy building a new chalet style home, wow ....very refreshing! A new life at 70!

But getting back to the question. Why is Costa Rica so in demand ?
It's because Costa Rica has so much to offer when it comes to creating the dream home, retirement, fun times, good health, and an alternative from the treadmill style rat race. It's one place on the planet were one can actually do it & live it !

Do I need Legal Representation?

Yes, get a good Costa Rican attorney, established lawyers are very good , mostly operating out of San Jose. They are happy to fly to Tamarindo & meet you. We can help you with a list or have you contact Esteban Chaverri Jimenez @ echaverri@ghp.co.cr & Alberto Pauly @ apauly@ghp.co.cr , or call the office at 506-258-2270.

What's the best way to buy land in Costa Rica?

Set up a Costa Rican corporation & buy the property with the new corporation. One can buy a corporation from an attorney "off the shelf " for US $600. What's amazing about Costa Rica, is that you as a foreigner have the exact same rights as a Costa Rican, unlike Bali or Thailand. People often refer to Costa Rica as the Switzerland
of South America!

Will I own the property outright?

Yes Once the property is fully paid, you will receive a deed from us which will be recorded in the "Registra National". Once in the national computer system the property is yours for life, which you can pass on to your children.

Is it good for retirement?

Costa Rica is rated as one of the most healthy climates in the world. It's less expensive, with a fantastic life style that would cost a fortune anywhere else. Put it this way,you can live large for less. There are approximately 120,000 American retirees enjoying Costa Rica right now.

How many lots will be available on Black Stallion Hills?

We are projecting 65-70 low density lots to be sold over the next few years, ranging in size from 2-10 acres. We are holding back the project rather than selling too fast as we like a 'step by step' approach towards this amazing opportunity!

When can I build my dream home?

You can build as soon as the condominium laws are approved. In Costa Rica condominium laws are the same as "by laws" in the USA. They are very important to the long term big picture. These laws will protect your property & add great value to all property owners inside Black Stallion. These laws are in motion with our attorneys, we are projecting 8-10 months for completion of the process.Well worth all the hard work involved in creating these laws.We will update & confirm the information.

Are you providing building contacts?

Yes, we have a list of top class builders in Tamarindo that have built small holiday houses to large rock star mansions. Naturally we can help you with your vision.

Are there landscaping companies?

Yes, we have very talented "green thumb" people that can turn you lot into a tropical dream garden. This is a Costa Rican specialty which they take great pride in.

Are there roads & electricity?

Yes, we are working on both the roads & the power. The power is all going to be underground, no ugly poles with wires all over the place. As we open up the property we will be adding more roads to the lots being developed.

Is the community gated?

As the project moves forward we will be providing security full time & the property will be watched 24/7. Right now we have twelve staff working daily on Black Stallion Hills.

Are there property taxes?

Yes, depending on the size of you lot, but a very humble amount nothing like the USA.

Will there be home owners dues?

Yes, but nothing to expensive. As we add more facilities to the property so do our expenses increase. We need to have constant maintenance to keep the property in tip top shape. We will also introduce a service that will keep your house & garden looked after if you wish.

How close is Black Stallion Hills to the airport?

From Tamarindo airport it is a 5 minute drive, that's one of the many reasons Black Stallion Hills is so amazing , its location. Your 5-10 minutes drive from everything the area has to offer.

Can I ship my car to Costa Rica?

Yes you can. However, its a better idea to buy car there as it avoids the import duty & all the smog checks, etc. San Jose has a huge selection of car dealers, buy one there & just drive it to Tamarindo.

Why is Costa Rica so popular?

It's a paradise in the true sense of the word. The hospitality is great, the foods fresh & healthy, and the outdoor life is untouchable. From surfing perfect waves to the best deep sea fishing in the world, Costa Rica has something to offer everyone. It's a playground were relaxing & having fun is mandatory! Costa Ricans call it "Pure Vida".

Can I get by with only speaking English?

Yes, most Costa Ricans can communicate in English. They are very familiar with Americans & now more Europeans. English is the second language. However, if you are serious about enjoying the country, we suggest learning Spanish asap.
